Craigslist Missed Connection

You wore a tank top like you didn’t belong
Littering the best parts of you in pieces around my shop.
There was a quiet desperation around your nose whenever we met eyes
I saw this and I noticed your short hair.

Whenever you turned around I also noticed the small break in the right strap of the blue bra you didn’t mind didn’t match up and hide.
You said you’re not from around here.
That’s fine.

You left and I stayed and I thought about other times you might visit.
You would stop by the shop again and I would help you. You would stop by and this time we would just talk. You would start to forget why you were coming by.

I’d begin to wonder if you would have been happier without me.
If you would have stayed not around here.

And you do.

And that’s fine.

Anonymous asked: I'm sure you will enjoy yourself anyway. Good luck,

Thank you, dear.

Anonymous asked: Do you know a lot of people there? Will you move?

I think that, perhaps, I know too many people there.
I will commute.

Anonymous asked: Where are you going/what's your major?

IPFW
English. Still writing.

Anonymous asked: Are you going to go back to school?

Yes. You know, I’ve come to think of you as some form of personal guardian angel. Though, this only applies because of your anonymity. Thank you.
